Requirements
  • Progressive experience in design technology leadership, including proven experience managing a team of direct reports.
  • Deep experience working within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, with thorough understanding of architectural and engineering workflows.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-discipline Building Information Modeling coordination, writing Building Information Modeling Execution Plans, and managing large-scale model exchanges across senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technology workflows to non-technical staff and clients.
  • Proficiency in core architecture, engineering, and construction technology tools, including Autodesk Revit, Rhino, and Navisworks, with a strong understanding of visual programming and computational tools such as Dynamo and Grasshopper.
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, construction management, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute design technology strategy, software integration plans, and research and development budgets alongside firm leadership.
  • Oversee all Design Technology and Building Information Modeling support staff, providing mentorship and resource allocation across projects.
  • Own the firm's digital standards, including templates, execution plans, automation workflows, and best practices across all production platforms.
  • Oversee digital twin, visualization, virtual reality, augmented reality, and environmental simulation efforts to elevate project delivery.
  • Lead development and strategic evolution of computational design workflows, custom scripts, and emerging technology tools.
  • Support internal teams such as Information Technology for infrastructure deployment and Project Management for technology risk assessment and project setup.
  • Research and present target technologies, software advancements, artificial intelligence integrations, and digital trends in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry to leadership.
  • Evaluate and improve digital design tools and systems, ensuring software interoperability and data health.
  • Ensure quality control and digital audits across complex project models while maintaining data security and confidentiality.
  • Drive studio-wide adoption of design technology by building and leading training programs that upskill teams and embed new tools into daily workflows.
