The New Product Development (NPD) Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and providing machine support, root cause analysis for machine outages or equipment performance issues and participation in cross functional teams to accomplish project specific goals. In particular, the engineering technician will work closely with the NPD team to bring in new equipment / automation and ensure it is prepped and ready to go onto the production floor.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned
Support the preparation and set-up of new production equipment into the production clean rooms.
Conduct upfront planning with facilities and the industrial engineering teams for the installation of automation and equipment into the designated locations within the plant.
Diagnose, trouble-shoot and repair production equipment for electrical and controls issues.
Monitor equipment and collect process data including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities to assist in making manufacturing equipment online adjustments as required.
Generate standard work procedures / troubleshooting guides based on machine failures and resolutions.
Maintain and track all required preventative maintenance (PM) activities for new product equipment and manufacturing lines.
Track and maintain comprehensive equipment spare parts and components.
Partner with new product development (NPD), production manufacturing and quality personnel to review / disposition production defects and provide potential process and/or equipment corrective actions to assure production schedules and quality expectations are met.
Provide support as needed in specification development, procurement, build, documentation, validation, and personnel training for automated assembly, packaging and related production manufacturing processes.
Maintain prompt and accurate communications with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, Planning, and Metrology departments on an as-needed basis.
Follow established guidelines and management direction with regard to engineering decisions and departmental/company policy.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
High school degree or GED required.
Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
Nice to Have
Associate’s degree in a technical program or other technical training/certification experience with technical capability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical, pneumatic and automated controls.
Perform electrical and mechanical repair on automated or semi-automated machines and robotic assembly equipment.
Ability to read machine schematics, investigate wiring and component issues.
Allen Bradley PLC and ladder logic troubleshooting.
Robotic systems, Cognex and/or Keyence vision and labeling systems.
Perform troubleshooting of automated vision systems, robotic systems and labeling systems.
Hands on, self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision while learning applications.
Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$57,600.00 - $86,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
