Requirements
  • Current PE registration
  • High school diploma with trade school certification in CAD Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical fields or AA degree in Mechanical, Plumbing or Electrical fields relevant experience or equivalent work experience
  • 7 10 years of relevant experience in MEP field
  • Advanced skills with the MSN Office Suite including: Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat/Reader
  • Effective dispute resolution skills
  • Thorough understanding of all applicable codes
  • Thorough understanding of LEED principles and accreditation desired
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities
Responsibilities
  • Directing and leading the design team of a wide number of projects
  • Assuming responsible charge for the overall economic well being of the assigned projects
  • Conducting business development activities
  • Conducting due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures
  • Establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects
  • Designing large projects, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a very high level of technical leadership
  • Establishing project budgets and schedules
  • Networking within SHG and outside
  • Participating in QA/QC process of completed work by staff
  • Participating in various trade organizations and prepare presentations
  • Performing “Engineer of Record” duties for projects
  • Performing calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration
  • Performing staff resource management and review
  • Producing drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
  • Providing consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports
  • Pursuing continuing education
  • Representing Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects and other project team members
