Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of seven years of accounting experience, including general ledger, tax, treasury, and cash experience, is required.
  • CPA or CMA certification is required.
  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and cash flow management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
  • Familiarity with corporate tax regulations, filings, and tax planning is required.
  • A solid understanding of laws and standards relevant to the industry is required.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks through internal controls and compliance practices is required.
  • Ability to analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making is required.
  • Ability to track and interpret key performance indicators to evaluate financial health is required.
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders is required.
  • A good understanding of all accounting processes is required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SAP proficiency, and familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems are required.
Responsibilities
  • Compile and prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income reports, and cash flow statements.
  • Lead the month-end financial close process, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
  • Review and prepare general ledger account reconciliations, follow up on inconsistencies, and correct them.
  • Review, analyze, and prepare journal entries for miscellaneous accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, cost allocations, and other expenses.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors and the finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards and maintain accurate general ledger records.
  • Oversee federal and state income tax compliance by coordinating with external tax accountants.
  • Manage tax preparation schedules and tax compliance for state and local taxes.
  • Prepare quarterly federal excise tax returns and maximize decreasing adjustments for non-taxable components and freight deductions.
  • Manage treasury processes, including account maintenance, wire transfers, Automated Clearing House transactions, cash forecasts, and cash reconciliations.
  • Support special projects and work with plant operations staff as necessary.
  • Support the Finance team by performing other duties as needed.
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with safety and health instructions.
  • Travel between buildings and to other locations as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • A proactive approach to resolving discrepancies, inefficiencies, and operational challenges is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills for fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders are desirable.
