Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or Medical Technology
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in infection control
  • Knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC, CARF and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines related to infection control
  • More than 10 years of direct infection control experience preferred
  • Previous infection control experience in the Rehabilitation setting is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provides integral input into the design and implementation of educational presentations regarding infection prevention and isolation/precautions in relation to specific communicable diseases
  • Conducts surveillance and outbreak investigations as indicated
  • In collaboration with Occupational Health, investigates significant infection problems and other infections amongst patients and employees
  • Assists in planning, and day-to-day operations of the infection prevention program
  • Reports communicable diseases to respective units/departments as required
  • Ensures infection prevention databases are maintained in a timely fashion
  • Represents infection prevention at entity/system-wide forums
  • Monitoring and support of our nine (9) outpatient sites
Desired Qualifications
  • More than 10 years of direct infection control experience preferred
  • Previous infection control experience in the Rehabilitation setting is strongly preferred
