Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a professional office setting directly related to the specified job responsibilities, with progressively greater responsibility for strategic decisions and judgments.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications.
  • People management experience.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and standard office equipment.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to translate complex business topics into concise advertising copy or marketing content.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results clearly and precisely in oral and written form.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to stoop and bend regularly and lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage all aspects of events and trade show participation for the West region.
  • Set strategy for larger events representing investments over $10,000 in collaboration with event team members, division heads, and internal departments.
  • Develop and maintain large-event budgets and prepare post-event reports showing actual spending and fundraising.
  • Determine the cost efficiency of internal and external events with the Marketing and Communications Vice President and leadership.
  • Research vendors, venues, and events through online inquiries, onsite tours, and event attendance.
  • Negotiate proposals, contracts, and hotel agreements with venues and vendors.
  • Research and implement new event opportunities that support business development, raise funds, increase attendance, and build brand awareness.
  • Manage communications with outside companies, vendors, internal staff, producers, event sponsors, and attendees.
  • Oversee logistics and registration for large events and manage sponsor, attendee, and donor databases.
  • Develop and manage event promotion and internal communications surrounding events.
  • Coordinate onsite support for company events, including strategy, logistical setup and breakdown, and swag setup or distribution.
  • Oversee relationships and commitments with strategic partners.
  • Provide creative support to the Marketing and Communications team by designing or updating brochures, flyers, invitations, and informational documents.
  • Meet with stakeholders to identify goals, timing, budget, and content for marketing collateral or campaigns.
  • Work with the graphic design team to produce marketing materials.
  • Supervise marketing budget recordkeeping performed by the Communications Events Coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Director and division leaders to identify investment opportunities, relevant return on investment, and unspent allocations.
  • Assist with other projects and duties assigned by the Marketing and Communications Vice President and provide additional team support.
  • Supervise, direct, and develop the skills, knowledge, and abilities of the Event & Marketing team.
  • Evaluate performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching regarding goal achievement and required skills.
  • Help associates address and resolve concerns involving job duties, performance standards, and coworker relations.
  • Address performance problems through coaching, performance improvement plans, progress documentation, and disciplinary action with guidance from the Marketing and Communications Director and Human Resources.
  • Work with Human Resources and department staff on recruitment, screening, and interviewing candidates for team openings.
  • Travel 15–20%, including 2–4 overnight trips per year in and out of state.
  • Attend and participate in networking, training, and industry functions that may extend beyond normal work hours.
