Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience is required, preferably in the medical device industry and/or a cleanroom environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze statistical parameters and produce quantifiable solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Food and Drug Administration, Quality System Regulation, and International Organization for Standardization regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
  • Control manufacturing processes while reducing defects and enhancing productivity and product quality.
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma tools to analyze process trend data and communicate issues using a data-driven approach.
  • Identify opportunities for process and yield improvement projects.
  • Anticipate potential issues before they arise by relying on prior experience and new industry knowledge.
  • Qualify and optimize processes and tooling via IQ/OQ/PQ, Gage R&R studies, process capability studies, and designed experiments.
  • Collaborate with peers in areas of engineering expertise while acting as an agent of change focused on improving technical skills and system knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including assembly procedures, test procedures, routers, travelers, bills of materials, process flows, and process failure mode and effects analyses.
  • Participate in investigations of non-conforming product and implement action plans for internal corrective actions and audit findings.
  • Develop data systems for defect tracking and operator analysis to support process and yield improvements.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations that include product teardowns and X-ray or computed tomography scan analysis using advanced vision systems.
  • Apply working knowledge of adhesive dispensing processes critical to component assembly.
  • Apply understanding of adhesive properties, including Loctite and Epo-tek, that are critical to material dispensability.
  • Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
  • Follow company guidelines related to health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Ensure personal and company compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
