Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing or currently enrolled in a BSN program with completion in four years and three years related Perioperative nursing experience required.
  • CNOR certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • RN-Perioperative Procedural Team Coordinator must complete new leader onboarding in-person classes and Frontline Nurse Leader Development Program (MyQuest 12 modules) within 6 months of hire.
  • Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association.
  • Must have scrub, circulating, and transplant experience.
  • RN licensure by South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider) required.
Responsibilities
  • Support and be proactive within the perioperative service line to achieve unit and organizational goals including clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets, and reduction of supply and care variation through evaluation of products.
  • Assist with Care Team Member retention and recruitment and employee engagement; serve as an educational resource following AORN best practices and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Sterile Processing Department leadership to create a culture of teamwork and safety; lead or co-lead the Working Specialty Groups and ensure CTMs attend regularly, with issues and solutions memorialized in minutes and communicated to the Perioperative Operations Group.
  • Participate in S3/RCA events including action planning, education and audits specific to the service.
  • Work collaboratively with other coordinators, charge nurses, SPD and Perioperative units to provide staffing solutions across Perioperative areas.
  • Ensure adequate staff and staff competency for the service line, equipment, and processes; request and post job vacancies via the FTE Request System; monitor OurDay and review posted positions daily for new candidates and interview within 1-3 days.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Professional Development team on new-hire onboarding and service-specific competency training; provide constructive feedback and administer equitable, objective feedback for yearly CTM evaluations.
  • Address behavioral, attendance, and performance issues through the disciplinary process up to a written reprimand in consultation with the manager.
  • Standardize and systemize PeriProcedural operations in collaboration with Perioperative Leadership; establish operating procedures, enhance clinical and non-clinical workflows, increase productivity, and improve quality outcomes and operational efficiencies across delivery settings.
