Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in configuration and data management, including at least 3 years in a Department of Defense environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; additional years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Experience managing the configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning and conducting design audits to enable Government ownership of the program technical baseline.
  • Ability to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment.
  • Experience with information technology configuration management in a Department of Defense environment.
  • Experience performing hardware and software configuration audits.
  • Experience performing the technical and administrative activities necessary to manage configuration-management tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, and media labeling.
  • Experience producing release notes and configuration-management reports.
  • In-depth understanding of the configuration change-control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change-control documentation.
  • Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments.
  • Experience developing briefings for management.
  • Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • U.S. citizenship and a current Secret clearance are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide configuration and CDRL data management, quality assurance, program and project support, requirements analysis, risk management, and software engineering support services in accordance with the program's Configuration Management Plan, Air Force SEAM configuration-management processes, development and sustainment contracts, and PMO practices.
  • Provide configuration management of all relevant program artifacts.
  • Review and analyze the development and sustainment contractor's configuration-management program and data deliveries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain configuration-management files, including configuration identification, change control, and status-accounting records.
  • Convene and manage Configuration Control Boards and Technical Review Boards, and record approved changes and results.
  • Participate in cross-functional change-control boards to evaluate proposed changes.
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure operational and sustainment capabilities are not adversely affected.
  • Support engineering assessments.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and support major audits such as Physical Configuration Audits and Functional Configuration Audits.
  • Report development and sustainment data-delivery status.
  • Support pre- and post-contract-award data reviews.
  • Review and analyze the development and sustainment contractor's conformance to CDRL requirements.
  • Support the establishment of workflows.
  • Track data-item deliverables and responses.
  • Develop and administer configuration-management plans.
  • Maintain design traceability and integrity.
  • Assist the Government with configuration control for information technology systems.
  • Manage configurations of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and plan and conduct design audits.
  • Track Change Requests and Discrepancy Reports/Problem Reports.
  • Ensure the integrity of the baseline, including major releases, minor releases, patches, and software maintenance.
  • Provide quality-assurance checks on system baselines.
  • Manage and control product baselines.
  • Recommend and document comprehensive configuration-management plans for software, hardware, firmware, and peripherals for information technology systems.
  • Audit and review information technology system configurations.
  • Create and maintain revisions to CDRL packages.
  • Convene, manage, and participate in Data Requirements Review Boards, and record approved requirements.
  • Receive and distribute CDRL data deliverables.
  • Provide configuration and data management input into all program documentation.
  • Identify data requirements adequately in the Statement of Work, Statement of Objectives, and/or Performance Work Statement.
