Mission Summary:
As part of our Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT), you will help us deliver the future by assuring the safety and cybersecurity of our self-driving vehicles, passengers, and infrastructure. You will work in the CIRT to build, develop, and operate a model of Incident Response that will allow us to quickly identify, respond, and protect against threats on our self-driving vehicles.
You will assist and/or lead investigations in active security incident scenarios, supporting the organization through the Incident Response lifecycle. You will work across functions to identify new and emerging threats and work to develop detection alarms and workflows to assist in future identification and response.
The Motional Pittsburgh office is located in the new Hazelwood Green development, a culmination of the city’s goal of restoring an economic driver to the neighborhood in a thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable way. With views along the Monongahela river, the Pittsburgh office is in the heart of this new state of the art development.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide expertise in the triage and identification of potential security incidents
- Execute the incident response plan, ensuring cross-functional teams operate functionally and efficiently through incident response scenarios
- Draft, maintain, and communicate incident reports for an executive audience
- Design and develop our approach for cybersecurity monitoring and response for our self-driving vehicle fleet
- Develop and create alarms, dashboards, and workflows to allow quicker and more efficient insight into security events
- Identify residual risk through security monitoring and instigate security-focused projects to remediate root cause issues
- Proactively hunting threats in our environment, identifying new risk areas, and developing methods for us to proactively address these threats
What We’re Looking For:
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or Equivalent Knowledge and Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity incident response
- Possess one cybersecurity certification (GIAC Certified Incident Handler, EC-Council Certified Incident Handler, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in multiple security frameworks (i.e. NIST, CIS, ATT&CK, etc.)
- Experience performing log analysis in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience developing correlation searches, building monitoring rules, and developing dashboards in Splunk
- Expertise in industry standards and regulations such as ISO 21434, UNECE WP.29 R155, or similar in other industries

$130,000—$174,500 USD
