Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in a safety or engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a safety- or engineering-related field is required.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety technical subject matter and its application in real-life settings is required.
  • Familiarity with construction safety, Job Safety Analysis, machine guarding, slip/trip/fall prevention, personal protective equipment, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently with numerous customer stakeholders are required.
  • Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals within the customer's work statement are required.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and the ability to monitor changes to applicable laws and regulations are required.
  • Strong technical writing skills, multitasking ability, safety awareness, and knowledge of safe work practices are required.
  • Experience with data management and report preparation is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • The ability to walk extensively at large construction sites over uneven ground is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational health and safety compliance auditing for the client.
  • Learn and apply the client's audit criteria, requirements, methods, and culture.
  • Review site plans, complete client-designed checklists, attend requested team meetings, and complete detailed timesheets and expense reports.
  • Conduct site observations to identify and assess compliance with client-developed design requirements.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior when serving the client and its stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and execute safety projects with Apex project managers according to organizational procedures and standards.
  • Design, implement, and execute agreed service plans in collaboration with the customer.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives and velocity.
  • Provide project status input to project managers, client relationship managers, and business development staff.
  • Perform on-site health and safety audits and remote desktop work.
  • Travel up to 75%, mostly within the region, with occasional cross-country travel.
