Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The Industrial Wastewater (IWT) engineering team is guided by extensive data research and development that is anchored by collaborative relationships. At our industrial wastewater treatment plant on the Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) site, our drive for current operational sustainability is balanced by future technology road mapping to ensure operational resilience and environmental stewardship. As the Technical Lead of the IWT Engineering team, in partnership with the Engineering Supervisor, you will:
• Review the technical readiness of engineering deliverables, which include the following:
o Promoting a safe work environment using a process safety mindset
o Monitoring system performance and trend analysis for operational needs
o Troubleshooting operational issues
o Use of peer-reviewed quantitative and qualitative data in technical reports for financial requests, incident reports and upper management presentations
o Providing oversight and communication to support the needs of Operations, Instrumentation & Maintenance teams as well as sub-contractors
o Evaluating process requirements and specifications of all IWT systems
o Cultivating, sustaining and managing collaboration to ensure site safety, quality of operation, and environmental stewardship
• Provide guidance to personnel, management, and executives on wastewater projects rationalization
• Development of future planning (technical road map) in collaboration with engineering team.
• Mentor and provide technical development opportunities for each member of the IWT team through a collaborative career mapping approach that also support organizational objectives
• Lead innovation in new wastewater treatment technologies
• Advise the team on prioritization of daily tasks, up through capital investment execution
• Support management reporting needs through data collection, consolidation and analysis
• Foster a team culture that promotes operational excellence, continuous learning, and empowerment
• Advise on succession planning for all IWT Engineer and Project Manager roles, as well as talent acquisition and retention.
• Interface with internal customers throughout site to represent wastewater treating objectives in support of site-wide goals
• Interface with regulatory organizations and utility providers on topics such as waste discharge quality and incoming stream specifications
Additionally, the IWT TL will collaborate with the IWT TR to develop long-term roadmaps and sustainability improvements.

• Frequent collaboration with Engineering Supervisor to improve the performance of the team
• Coaches and mentors staff to facilitates career development and technical expertise
• Develops and modifies site standards and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Required Education and Experience
• B.S. in engineering field
• 8+ years of experience in a Chemical Engineering environment
• 5+ years in Industrial Wastewater Treatment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong data analysis skills
• Strong technical background – with particular ability to understand, repair, and optimize industrial process systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows based applications
Preferred Education and Experience
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineers within a facilities environment
• PE license
• 12+ years of experience in a Facilities, Engineering and/or Project Management environment
• Computer programming experience a plus
• Project Management experience (PMP) a plus
