Requirements
  • A Master's Degree.
  • For the Advanced Professional level, at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • For the Intermediate Professional level, at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • A Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine Licensed Athletic Trainer credential.
  • A Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or another accredited organization.
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or another accredited organization.
  • A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
  • Successful completion of a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with coordination and delivery of comprehensive athletic training and sports medicine services for assigned student athletes.
  • Schedule, organize, and complete onboarding and exit physicals.
  • Attend and transport student athletes to medical appointments when medically necessary.
  • Provide day-to-day medical care, practice and event coverage, and travel to away contests.
  • Serve as a member of the Sports Performance Team for collaborative development and implementation of comprehensive injury prevention, Return to Play, and performance enhancement programs.
  • Document proper medical records in accordance with governmental and university guidelines.
  • Assist with policy and procedure development and updates.
  • Assist with maintaining the athletic training facility and inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and departmental committees or working groups as requested.
  • Supervise athletic training students as a preceptor when assigned.
  • Mentor other staff members and assist with cross coverage when needed or defined by the supervisor.
  • Perform the physical effort required for practice and game preparation, emergency care management, and rehabilitation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
