View

Lutheran Senior Services is a faith-based, not-for-profit network that serves older adults (ages 62 and up) by offering a range of services and programs designed to enhance their quality of life. Its products are services for seniors, including housing support, care programs, and community activities, delivered through a mission-driven organization. The approach centers on providing elder-focused assistance and community resources rather than consumer tech products; activities and services are coordinated to meet the needs of aging adults in a faith-inspired framework. The organization differentiates itself from competitors by its nonprofit, faith-based mission and networked service model, rather than for-profit senior care providers, and by supporting older adults through a continuum of care and community engagement. The goal is to help older adults live well, stay connected, and receive compassionate care as they age, guided by values of service and faith.

What believers are saying

  • GUIDE reimbursement of $65–$390 monthly per beneficiary creates recurring revenue from Medicare population.
  • Expanded dementia care reach beyond senior living communities into home-based services through GUIDE model.
  • Acquisition of St. Louis Home Health strengthens in-home service capabilities and GUIDE service delivery.

What critics are saying

  • GUIDE reimbursement capped at $390 monthly plus $2,500 respite insufficient to cover program costs.
  • United Church Homes and LifeCare for Seniors offer identical GUIDE services, fragmenting dementia care market.
  • EverTrue rebranding creates confusion among Medicare beneficiaries seeking LSS GUIDE services and referrals.

What makes Lutheran Senior Services unique

  • Hogeweyk-inspired memory care neighborhood at Meramec Bluffs combines gated village design with therapeutic amenities.
  • CMS-selected GUIDE participant offering free navigation, 24/7 support, and up to $2,500 annual respite.
  • 19-location faith-based network across Missouri and Illinois with integrated home and community-based services.
