Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field is required.
  • At least 6 years of experience in project leadership or systems engineering within a manufacturing, development, or research environment is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience with product development and design control processes is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, including requirements definition through verification and validation, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide systems design leadership for new product development programs in Cardiology as a key contributor on a cross-functional team.
  • Lead and support the engineering team in executing the design process, including requirements management, risk management including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, testability, verification, validation, compliance with internal processes and applicable industry standards, and design transfer to production.
  • Participate in defining product architecture, test strategies, and design requirements while balancing performance, complexity, risk, manufacturability, serviceability, and quality.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage user and system requirements in alignment with product and program objectives.
  • Drive design evolution across multi-generation product releases with an emphasis on platforming, reuse, and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of verification and validation strategies for new product introduction and changes to released products.
  • Support manufacturing and the installed base team by investigating and implementing corrective and preventive actions to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability from user needs through verification and validation.
  • Manage requirement updates and changes throughout the product lifecycle, assess impacts, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure quality objectives are met and support identification and mitigation of technical risks throughout development and post-release.
  • Support regulatory and quality activities, including FDA and internal audits and preparation and maintenance of Design History Files.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field.
  • At least 7 years of medical device or regulated product development experience.
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or ALM to create, maintain, and trace product requirements in a collaborative development environment.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or a similar language.
  • Familiarity with medical device standards such as IEC 60601-1, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and related regulatory and safety standards.
  • Ability to make informed technology choices when exploring options and analyzing the impact of technology decisions.
  • Ability to convey technical information to cross-functional program team members.
  • Exposure to systems engineering frameworks and methodologies, with certifications such as INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP.

GE HealthCare launches Invenia ABUS Prime and StreamVue for breast cancer screening

GE HealthCare has launched Invenia ABUS Prime and ABUS StreamVue, expanding its breast imaging portfolio with solutions for supplemental screening in women with dense breasts. The Invenia ABUS Prime system has been installed at BeSound in Los Angeles, marking one of the first US installations. ABUS StreamVue is a browser-based reading solution enabling remote exam review across imaging networks. The system received FDA 510(k) clearance and CE Marking. Studies show 40% of women have dense breasts, carrying four to six times higher breast cancer risk. Research indicates mammography may miss one-third of cancers in dense breasts. Invenia ABUS Prime features AI-enabled tools including Scan Quality Assessment and can increase scan speed by up to 40%. The AI Assistant has demonstrated a 33% reduction in reading time.

GE HealthCare beats profit estimates on imaging demand and $129M tariff refunds

GE HealthCare exceeded Wall Street's second-quarter profit estimates, driven by robust demand for diagnostic and imaging devices and tariff refunds from the Trump administration. The medical device maker reported net income of $561 million, up from $486 million last year, which included $129 million in tariff refunds. Revenue reached $5.30 billion for the quarter ending 30 June, surpassing the estimated $5.26 billion. Sales in imaging devices grew 7.9%, whilst pharmaceutical diagnostics jumped 15.6%. However, GE HealthCare noted that geopolitical instability, including Middle East conflicts, negatively affected costs, supply chains and logistics during the quarter.

Organic revenue grew 3.5%, driven by strength in Pharmaceutical Diagnostics and Advanced Imaging Solutions. Patient Care Solutions revenue declined 13.5% year-on-year. Adjusted EBIT margin came in at 14.2%, down 40 basis points from the prior year. Shares jumped 9% premarket following the release. GE HealthCare reaffirmed its full-year guidance, projecting organic revenue growth of 3.0% to 4.0% and adjusted EPS between $4.80 and $5.00.
