Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional full-stack software development experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker is required.
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications on AWS is required.
  • Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and trunk-based development is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is required.
  • The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • The position requires a Public Trust Tier 2 clearance.
  • The selected candidate must obtain favorable FBI criminal history and fingerprint checks conducted through the U.S. Capitol Police before starting work and pass a background check to access the CBO network.
  • New hires must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, and employees are subject to random drug screens during employment.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements across ReactJS front-end and Python/FastAPI back-end layers.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs with validation, error handling, versioning, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces that follow CBO UX standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Implement and manage data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures in PostgreSQL with attention to performance and integrity.
  • Work within CBO's trunk-based development workflow by committing small, frequent, tested changes with short-lived branches and feature flags.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives with CBO engineers, product owners, and analysts.
  • Package applications with Docker and support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS, including ECS, EKS, or equivalent services.
  • Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities across the stack and proactively reduce technical debt.
  • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests using pytest, Jest, React Testing Library, or equivalent tools.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including API documentation, data-model diagrams, and architecture decision records.
Desired Qualifications
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate is preferred.
