Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • One year of coaching experience with a collegiate rowing program or four years of NCAA Division I rowing experience is required.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by the University of Louisville are required.
  • Ability and willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in coordinating and executing the University's NCAA Division I Women's Rowing program.
  • Identify and recruit qualified student-athletes.
  • Prepare practices and races, coach student-athletes, and promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program.
  • Develop student-athlete skills, assist with practice plans, implement practice plans, and review and break down video and data.
  • Organize, prepare, and conduct individual and team practice sessions to train and prepare student-athletes for competition and instruct them in sport techniques.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Promote a culture supportive of student-athletes' post-graduate goals.
  • Promote compliance with NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations by monitoring program activities, participating in rules education, submitting compliance documents on time, and reporting potential rules violations.
  • Interact with rowing boosters and booster club members.
  • Conduct community outreach with players and other coaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Desired Qualifications
  • NCAA Division I rowing coaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of athlete conditioning and maintenance.
  • Experience with rowing-specific data collection modalities.
  • Working knowledge of recruiting and video software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
