The opportunity

Job Summary

Southern New Hampshire University isseekingan individual to serve as aFirst-GenStudent Catalyst.Student Catalysts willassistin creating and implementing engaging programming and events for first-generation college students andsupporting faculty/staff. Inadditiontopeer-to-peer support,Student Catalysts willfosterconnections and advocatefor the needs of first-generation students.

Student Catalysts willalsocreatecontent development for social media platforms,monthlynewsletters,and willaidthePenmen FirstScholars Program ina series of marketing activities that range from creatingbulletinboards torepresentingthe office at tabling events.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrollment in an Undergraduate program at SNHU (at least a sophomore) 
• On-Campus student 
• Passion for working with first-generation students 
• Working knowledge in concepts related to first-generation students and on-campus student resources that are available to those students 
• Must be willing to work collaboratively with others and be flexible regarding assigned tasks 
• Knowledge of basic computer/technology skills (word, excel or equivalent, google docs, Canva, video/digital imaging, etc.) 
• Knowledge of basic social media skills (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) 
• Ability to maintain privacy 
• An interest in advancing the mission of the Penmen First Scholars Program

Work Schedule
Can work up to 20 hours per week between programming and staffing the First-Gen Lounge. Hours will typically be between Monday-Friday, from any time between 8 am - 5 pm. Some evenings and weekends will be required for program support.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
