Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in similar positions
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in insurance underwriting
  • Minimum 1-2 years of business operations management experience in the property casualty insurance industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation underwriting operations
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Responsibilities
  • Drives sales and branch operational goals in partnership with the Branch Manager
  • Develops programs to promote new products, reposition existing products and integrate diverse corporate philosophies to support overall marketing and Underwriting efforts of the branch
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the geographic territory assigned with regard to production sources, competitor activity, and economic and demographic idiosyncrasies
  • Manages marketing research to help identify opportunities for management, product enhancements, new distribution channels and new geographic markets with growth potential
  • Leverages current and emerging industry information to enhance team member production and branch operations
  • Monitors WCIRB/NCCI rulings, forms and coverage changes or updates
  • Strategically educates self and team on industry related changes such as competitor activities, rating plans, credit and pricing trends
  • Develops business acumen in the areas of internal organization goals and strategies, leadership skills, sales techniques, negotiation abilities and other related topics to share with assigned team members or branch team members as needed
  • Directs activities pertaining to industry affairs and trade show events including exhibiting, special events and lead generation follow up
  • Underwrites assigned branch team members’ Worker’s Compensation accounts, drives assigned team member profitability and manages own profitable book of business
  • Utilizes high level underwriting authority to effectively price Company’s products
  • Sells, services and maintains a producer force that can sell and control a profitable and growing book of business
  • Drives profitable sale of the Company's products including increasing sales of existing products, and the introduction and selling of new products as they are developed
  • Develops own and assigns out producer groups to improve the quality and quantity of the business we obtain from assigned producers
  • Prospects and develops new business
  • Develops and leads a team of Branch WCU professionals
  • Provides strategic and tactical direction to the Branch Underwriting team
  • Establishes and maintains the overall work cadence and, in partnership with Branch Manager and other LOB leaders, ensures performance and outcomes strive for excellence in delivery and customer experience
  • Ensures that the entire assigned team is engaged and that leadership practices for the department encourage development, recognition, and retention
  • Establishes and holds team accountable to and adheres to hiring criteria, on-boarding, and training requirements for incoming staff
  • Oversees the performance management and development process for team members and performs performance management duties, development planning and coaching for direct reports
  • Acts as a resource for team members to answer questions and solve complex problems
  • Assists the Branch Manager during the performance management and development process for assigned team members and regularly assists or completes development planning and coaching for direct reports
  • Ensures data quality, adherence to LOB guidelines, profitability and other risk-related metrics for self and members of the team

From keynote sessions and breakout content to networking conversations, exhibit activity, and experiential moments throughout the venue, the goal was to produce a polished recap video in time to premiere before the event concluded. Coverage included morning coffee cart gatherings, shared meals, evening entertainment, and the in-between moments that help define the energy of the event experience. Working in real time throughout the three-day conference, the team captured footage across multiple areas of the venue and completed editing within the conference window so the video could premiere before the event concluded. This work was filmed and edited on-site by Video Production Specialist Layla Absalon and Marketing & Communications Manager Sierra Sieracki. The finished highlight reel reflects the scope, momentum, and community connection that define the DEAMcon experience. Gentiva "day-in-the-life" Recruitment video - Silver. Recruit Rooster partnered with Gentiva to create a Day-in-the Life recruitment video offering an authentic look into hospice care through the perspective of a hospice nurse. The story follows the responsibilities, environments, and emotional dynamics that define the role, with scenes thoughtfully recreated alongside staff members across multiple locations to reflect the range of settings hospice professionals encounter each day. Rather than focusing on the sadness often associated with end-of-life care, the creative direction emphasized connection, purpose, and the meaningful relationships formed through hospice work. Produced entirely by Video Production Specialist Layla Absalon and Marketing & Communications Manager Sierra Sieracki in collaboration with Gentiva partners, the video uses close-range visuals, personal testimonials, and an uplifting tone to highlight the dedication and compassion that define hospice care. The finished piece helps candidates better understand not only what hospice professionals do but why the work matters. ZoomCare recruitment highlight video - Silver. Recruit Rooster partnered with ZoomCare to produce a recruitment-focused highlight video showcasing a variety of clinic environments across multiple locations in the Pacific Northwest. Designed to support healthcare hiring efforts, the video emphasizes schedule flexibility, workplace collaboration, and the reasons providers choose to build their careers with ZoomCare. The storytelling approach relies heavily on natural B-roll footage capturing provider-patient interactions, team testimonials, and daily clinical operations alongside regional landscape visuals that reinforce a strong sense of place and community. This project was produced by Video Production Specialist Layla Absalon and Marketing & Communications Manager Sierra Sieracki in collaboration with partners at ZoomCare to create a dynamic recruitment piece designed to help candidates better understand the culture and environment that define the organization. SAN DIEGO (Jan. 15, 2026) - ICW Group announced the continued expansion of its ICW Specialty business unit with the addition of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) solutions and the appointment of Travis Murnan as Head of Alternative Risk Transfer. The addition of ART represents ICW Group's broader growth strategy and underscores the company's commitment to diversifying its product portfolio while delivering innovative risk solutions for complex and evolving customer needs. ART is expected to go to market later this year as part of ICW Specialty, which was launched in 2025 to support Excess and Surplus products and other coverage solutions. To lead this effort, Travis Murnan has come on board to design, build, and scale ICW Specialty's ART capability and leverage advanced data, analytics, and actuarial modeling to deliver durable, long-term solutions for customers. "Travis brings a rare depth of expertise across data, analytics, and actuarial science, paired with the strategic mindset required to translate insights into durable solutions, and I could not be more excited to welcome Travis to our team," said Tracey Estes, Chief Underwriting Officer, ICW Specialty. A credentialed actuary, Murnan is known for combining deep technical expertise with a client-focused approach. Murnan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of the Ozarks.
