Position Summary
Editas Medicine is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director, People Partner to join our People Team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this key leadership role will be instrumental in driving organizational effectiveness and talent development strategies across the Commercial, G&A, and Technical Operations functions. This individual will collaborate closely with peers in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Compensation, and Financial Planning & Analysis to manage evolving organizational needs and proactively identify critical talent for the future while supporting development of existing Editors. Lastly, as a cultural leader and enabler, they will need to promote and embody Editas’ values, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement to help create a best-in-class culture.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior Director, People Partner, you will be responsible for:
- Operating as a strategic people partner and internal consultant, supporting various clients, including Technical Operations, G&A, and Commercial.
- Serves as trusted advisor in areas such as people team operations, organizational effectiveness and development, capability building, talent management, Editor engagement, and change management.
- Utilizes consulting skills to influence, coach and provide quality feedback to employees at all levels to increase self-awareness and develop high performance capabilities.
- Develops and implements strategies for employees and the organization to help Editas to reach its strategic goals.
- Embraces and exemplifies Editas organizational values and consistently role models desired behaviors.
- Develops and implements innovative approaches to build a highly engaged workforce and best in class organizational culture.
- Employee Relations- identifies, advises, and helps resolve conflicts to maintain positive working relationships and business effectiveness.
- Maintains a close connection to, and awareness of staff engagement and morale levels to ensure employees are well equipped to perform at their best.
- Partners with stakeholders including leadership, FP&A, Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers to ensure the successful acquisition and integration of new Editors into a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
- Leads key organizational processes and projects on behalf of the Enterprise.
- Operates as a role model and culture ambassador within the organization – maintaining a “pulse” on the organization, proactively bringing fresh perspectives forward, offering balanced and mature perspective and advice to Editors, and inspiring self and others to actively live the Editas values.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years progressive Human Resources experience with specific experience in HR Operations, organizational development and effectiveness, talent management, performance management, coaching, employee relations, employee engagement, compensation & benefits, and recruiting.
- Prior experience working in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry or another fast-paced, high growth industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additionally, candidates with the following attributes are preferred:
- Master’s degree or other advanced degree preferred, but not required.
- Preference for candidates with experience in HR in both large and small organizations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary organization.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
