Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Three to five years of related experience, including Medicare Advantage marketing and sales within a health maintenance organization, is required.
  • Working knowledge of computers and related business software applications is required.
  • A basic understanding of Medicare marketing principles is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain critical relationships with external sources are required.
  • The ability to handle varying situations with tact and diplomacy is required.
  • The employee must be able to use a computer keyboard and spend more than 15% of work time in front of a computer monitor.
  • When required, the employee must be able to move, lift, or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to operate a vehicle used for company business.
  • The employee must follow state and federal regulatory guidelines and sales and marketing requirements established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act, the California Department of Health Care Services, and the Compliance Department.
  • Employees must provide the highest possible level of service to clients, promote teamwork and cooperative effort among employees, maintain safe practices, and abide by the HealthPlan's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of the organization's Medicare Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan marketing and sales strategy to deliver new member enrollment and member retention targets.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Attend community events, including member-facing health fairs, to promote enrollment in the Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan product.
  • Monitor changes in the marketing environment and competitive strategies, evaluate and adjust marketing strategy, and identify opportunities to grow enrollment.
  • Gather member feedback and identify opportunities to align the Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan product with member needs and expectations.
  • Oversee the production of digital and print marketing and sales creative, including engagement with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Ensure required member materials meet regulatory requirements and work with Compliance to meet Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services submission deadlines.
  • Manage the team's execution of marketing plans, monitor outcomes and metrics, and implement daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activity and productivity tracking mechanisms.
  • Provide and present updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding marketing initiatives and impact.
  • Establish broker oversight and train the marketing and sales team on product expertise and compliance with sales regulations.
  • Establish rapid disenrollment monitoring, marketing and sales grievance investigations, and call monitoring.
  • Initiate and execute sales presentations, community events, and other resident activities within assigned communities to support individual and team enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with clinical teammates to optimize enrollment results.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal benefits by completing required training and certifications and attending educational workshops.
  • Participate on assigned committees.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development of employees; establish individual team-member goals and assist in achieving those goals.
  • Manage and update internal marketing and sales policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the California Medi-Cal program and/or Medicare program is preferred.
  • A valid California driver's license or other approved means of transportation may be required.
