Requirements
  • Hold an MD degree (or equivalent) and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec
  • Have completed postgraduate clinical training in Pediatrics
  • Have completed specialty training in Neonatology with certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Possess training in, or significant clinical experience with, neonatal hemodynamics and/or POCUS, and/or Quality Improvement; candidates without these skills would be expected to commit to such training
  • Have leadership and communication skills
  • Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Be an active physician member of the Division of Neonatology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, MUHC
  • Share the daytime clinical service, provide in-house night calls for weeknights and weekends, and weekend days in the NICU, as well as back-up call coverage
  • Provide clinical supervision of house staff (i.e., fellows, residents, and medical students)
  • Provide excellent clinical and academic support to areas of expertise in the NICU including POCUS, neonatal hemodynamics, neurocritical care, physiological monitoring and/or Quality Improvement
  • Contribute to the interdisciplinary education mission, including the training of neonatal nurse practitioner students, medical students, and residents
  • Participate in academic and administrative committees, such as the fetal diagnostic and treatment group
  • Be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees)
  • Contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
