Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy OR Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
  • Current Registered Pharmacist Licensure and ability to obtain multiple state licensures
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • 5+ years’ experience management level role (e.g., Director, Vice President)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and healthcare compliance
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices
  • Experience in a heavily regulated environment. Pharmacy experience is preferred
  • Proven success in large scale start-up businesses
  • Proven success in change management in multiple layers of an organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge of the business who provides direct oversight and management of the daily activities of the department.
  • Manages data information and prepares statistical reports, noting trends and issues, quality and operations performance indicators including but not limited to: Quality Indicators and company KPI’s by providing analysis and recommendations to the management team regarding the appropriate actions and responses.
  • Prepares high level analysis, summaries and recommendations.
  • Provides strategic direction to operations to operational efficiency as well as patient outcomes and excellent service. Develops strategic plans to ensure successful implementation of action plans and objectives where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company, competitive environment, technology and economic or social implications of organizational activities.
  • Provides strategic operational alignment for transformational activities that drive initiatives. This includes but is not limited to building scalability of teams and understanding process analysis to increase effectiveness in operational workflow.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements and efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Participates in the QA committee process to develop best practices to support accreditations and contractual obligations.
  • Works with leadership to develop strategies and goals related to Pharmacy Operations.
  • Provides strategic leadership of overall objectives through the application of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to effect positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned business unit(s).
  • Oversees focused operations and sets the vision and direction through resource allocation decisions for a critical large-scale initiative.
  • Requires in depth interaction with all levels of the organization to manage the business. Regular interaction with executives and/or major customers within and across other divisions inclusive of legal and compliance. Has strong interaction with SVPs, Presidents and possibly with the CEO.
  • Directs and oversees the broad activities of the business unit(s) through the interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures relevant to the assigned functional area(s).
  • Drives pharmacy operation team engagement through core values. Partners with business leaders to drive operational excellence and employee excellence. Provides the strategic direction for achieving high customer service standards coupled with the complexity of patient care.
  • Collaborates with employees in the establishment of clear and concise development plans to ensure succession planning and the advancement of future leaders within the organization.
  • Ensures that budgets and schedules are within company requirements with significant organizational responsibility for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and the recommendation and implementation of current practices.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce, partnering with Human Resources on employee relations issues.
  • Serves as a representative of the organization to external customers. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve highly visible activities which may include speaking to or negotiating with customers, influencing other executives and/or academics, lobbying regulators or policy makers and representing the organization on matters of great significance.
  • Assists with various projects as assigned.
