Requirements
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program; or equivalent education and/or experience and RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required; or Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience.
  • Telemetry and Arterial and Venous Sheath Removal experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
  • Performs scrub duties and related procedures for peripheral diagnostics or interventions with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to scrub, gown, glove and set up back table with necessary equipment.
  • Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy.
  • Monitors procedure, and documents inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab(tm) event log.
  • Maintains ECG set up and rhythm monitoring.
  • Maintains basic hemodynamic set up and waveform monitoring.
  • Assists in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe, effective care of patient.
  • Performs required checks on all safety equipment.
  • Ensures adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
  • Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
