Requirements
  • Experience shipping real artificial intelligence products or platforms into production, including evaluation loops, harnesses, or orchestration.
  • Ability to understand systems involving routing, evaluation, feedback loops, and cost.
  • Technical credibility sufficient to read code, query data, reason about model tradeoffs, latency, and cost, and redesign orchestration without being a full-time engineer.
  • Ability to evaluate and switch models based on task performance rather than vendor loyalty.
  • Strong product judgment and ability to turn an ambiguous mandate into a roadmap and execute it.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly ambiguous environment without an established playbook or platform team.
  • Ability to communicate model-routing decisions to executives and harness changes to engineers.
  • Ability to investigate data and code to understand workflows, evaluations, and cost anomalies.
Responsibilities
  • Own Disco's artificial intelligence platform end to end.
  • Own the model orchestration and routing layer that directs tasks to appropriate models.
  • Maintain model-agnostic and harness-agnostic infrastructure so models can be replaced without re-platforming.
  • Track the total cost of every model call and own the large language model budget.
  • Own the artificial intelligence harnesses that enable safe production deployment, including review, verification, and traffic-publishing controls.
  • Build and own evaluation loops for models, agents, workflows, and cron jobs.
  • Design evaluation graphs that detect regressions before they create costs and establish guardrails against production incidents.
  • Own the agentic development pipeline, including the Amazon Web Services Bedrock harness, automated pull request flow, and quality-assurance gates.
  • Productize internal artificial intelligence tooling such as cron generation, workflow automation, memory, and context.
  • Reduce silent cost centers by converting expensive agent loops into inexpensive deterministic code where appropriate.
  • Enable every team to build, evaluate, and automate safely with artificial intelligence.
  • Maintain knowledge of which models perform best for different tasks.
  • Set standards for which artificial intelligence outputs are trusted and which require verification before shipping.

Disco operates a collaborative retail media network for direct-to-consumer brands. Its core product is a post-purchase widget on the thank-you page that shows recommendations from partner brands, with AI assessing which pairings work best and which customers are likely to buy. It differentiates itself by using a cooperative network of non-competing brands instead of relying on large platforms, and it combines a flat SaaS platform fee with a CPA model, plus DiscoAudiences and pro-tool fees. Its goal is to help brands discover new customers, lower acquisition costs, and gain shopper insights through shared data and cross-promotion.
