Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A Professional Engineer license in Montana is required, or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in site civil design, site development, municipal civil engineering, land development, or related infrastructure projects is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, teams, and deliverables is required.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, site layout, permitting, construction documents, and municipal or land development processes is required.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers and technical staff, support accountability, and foster a collaborative project environment is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to work effectively with clients, agencies, contractors, subconsultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and aligned with the company’s core values and employee-owned culture.
Responsibilities
  • Manage site civil projects from conceptual design through final construction, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Guide the preparation and review of civil site plans, grading and drainage designs, stormwater management systems, utility layouts, permitting documentation, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor engineers and technical staff by supporting collaboration, technical development, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Ensure project work meets applicable codes, environmental regulations, agency standards, client expectations, and internal quality assurance and quality control requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and marketing staff to identify and pursue new opportunities, prepare proposals, support interviews, and represent the company at client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
