Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field, or five years of experience working in manufacturing in Operations, Maintenance, or Reliability.
  • The ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to interact directly with customers and lead technical discovery discussions at the site level.
  • The ability to craft customer questions to identify the best scope of work, implementation technique, and application selection based on customer value.
  • A valid driver's license and passport.
  • The ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Residence in the United States, ideally within one hour of a major airport.
  • The ability to travel internationally when required.
Responsibilities
  • Visit customers or prospective customers in person to generate a Scope of Work by observing rotating equipment, reviewing engineering documents, engineering key hardware or software applications, and helping develop the value of condition monitoring.
  • Plan and execute customer site visits and professionally represent the company in the field.
  • Work closely with Sales and Engineering teams to drive Scope of Work creation at customer sites.
  • Walk through facilities to observe rotating machines and design hardware and software solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Write site visit reports and manage the handoff of Scope of Work to Sales and Implementation/Installation teams via internal tools.
  • Manage time and administrative tasks, including service reports, customer action lists, asset lists, Salesforce, and other project management software.
  • Learn and research manufacturing industries, condition monitoring technologies, reliability techniques, maintenance, machines, and manufacturing operations.
  • Travel to customer sites for scope generation, up to 90% of the time.

The profile provides a standardised framework for capturing plant-floor operational knowledge, including worker expertise, process dynamics, and sensor-trust policies, to support AI agents in industrial environments. The profile addresses context fragmentation in manufacturing, where critical operational wisdom often remains undocumented or trapped in legacy systems. It works alongside existing industrial standards like ISA-95 and ISA-88 by focusing specifically on human judgment and operational trust rules. The profile dynamically references operating data from source systems without duplicating values, ensuring AI agents have access to current, human-verified information. Google Cloud introduced OKF in June 2026 as an open specification for structuring knowledge in human- and machine-readable formats.

Rockwell Automation and industrial AI company Augury spotted an opportunity to help industries make sense of the vast pools of data the technology is now generating, teaming on a product focused on delivering usable information to manufacturers. The US-headquartered automation company explained the partnership with Augury would benefit businesses seeking to employ AI in predictive ways spanning maintenance, reliability and overall industrial performance. Rockwell Automation's own research indicates less than half of all data collected is being used in effective ways, despite the growing ability for AI to execute on the insights it provides. "Manufacturers don't need more alerts, they need a faster path to action," Angela Rapko, VP and GM of Visualisation and Asset Management at Rockwell Automation explained. The set-up uses relevant products from each company to provide the route highlighted by the executive: Rockwell Automation stated it enables manufacturers to go beyond "early issue detection and diagnosis". The Augury agent "continuously analyses machine conditions" for potential problems and generates ideas on how to avoid or fix them. Rockwell Automation's assistant is used to make sense of the recommendations to provide "maintenance workflows, work orders and orchestration of execution activities". Rockwell Automation indicated the partnership could be foundational in future agentic AI developments in addition to the companies' more practical aim of helping industrial players to improve the efficiency of their manufacturing operations. Augury, an industrial AI company, is developing its Industrial AI Workforce, featuring role-based agents designed to bridge insight-to-action gaps for manufacturers. Built on Augury's Machine Health solution, the agents combine operational data from AVEVA CONNECT with Google's Gemini models to create adaptive production environments. The system centres on the Industrial Context Graph, which connects machine health signals with operational and environmental data. Global minerals company ICL Group is already testing the agents for root cause analysis and yield optimisation. The solution is built on Google Cloud through an independent software vendor partnership, with AVEVA integration via its Managed Solution programme.
