Requirements
  • Minimum of a BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience for Level 2 or 5 years for Level 3 in relevant fields
  • Background in metallics, sealants and/or coatings for structures
  • Experience with metal or composite fabrication and design
  • Experience with repair processes for metal or composite materials
  • Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance
Responsibilities
  • Performs root cause analysis of material failures
  • Generates test plans & reports
  • Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials
  • Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior
  • Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables
  • Perform drawing reviews to ensure M&P requirements are satisfied
  • May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures
  • May travel to subcontractor locations

  • Degree discipline in Materials Science or similar
  • Experience with aircraft structures
  • Experience with military specs and standards
  • Experience interfacing with a military customer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
