Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • The ability to work in rugged outdoor conditions, including extreme weather, remote locations, and challenging terrain, is required.
  • Familiarity with construction plans, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements is required.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and transport surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors, to collect accurate field data for survey preparation.
  • Support the Survey Party Chief by carrying out daily field assignments and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist with construction layouts by setting stakes and flagging points in accordance with project specifications.
  • Collect invert elevations, subsurface utility data, and other site information accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform site preparation, including line clearing, brush removal, and obstacle management, using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Document project sites through photography and field notes as required.
  • Review and maintain the Equipment Inventory List; ensure that tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and reported if damaged.
  • Assist with upkeep of company field vehicles, ensuring they remain stocked, clean, and in safe operating condition.
  • Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and safety protocols to promote quality and safe work practices.
  • Assist with office tasks, including downloading field data, electronic file management, deed plotting, and other related duties.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with surveying best practices, technology, and industry guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Surveying Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior internships in the architecture, engineering, or environmental industry are preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA-10 certification, or industry-related credentials are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources are preferred.
