Requirements
  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong Python software development skills, including experience building production-quality applications.
  • Proven experience developing interactive 2D and 3D visualisation tools.
  • Experience integrating and working with multiple data sources and formats.
  • Experience delivering software in an engineering, scientific, or other technically demanding environment.
  • A strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with domain experts and end users.
  • A proactive and pragmatic mindset, with the flexibility to adapt quickly and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain custom software tools for the Aerodynamics department, delivering robust and scalable solutions that support engineering performance.
  • Take full ownership of tasks and projects from concept through to deployment, driving the successful delivery of capabilities to end users with accountability for quality, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, aerodynamicists, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, define solutions, and translate business needs into effective software systems.
  • Develop and support applications across the full software stack, including databases, backend services, APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
  • Advocate for and apply software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, documentation, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead troubleshooting, optimisation, and enhancement of existing systems to improve reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Contribute technical expertise within a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment, supporting both ongoing operational needs and future innovation.
