Role Summary
Role: System Integration Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA.
We are seeking an experienced System Integration Engineer to join our dynamic startup in disrupting mobility and living space. This role is responsible for the installation, bring-up, testing, and debug of various electrical components and software integration on bench and directly within the vehicle. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure successful integration and validation of vehicle systems. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive engineering principals, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for the electrification and development of cutting-edge vehicle technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Own the buildout, bring-up, and maintenance of Pebble’s HIL Benches
- Generate and execute FMEA tests for various features and functions in the vehicle
- Collaborate with software teams on bring-up and integration of electrical systems on bench and in the vehicle
- Conduct detailed analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve integration issues ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Support manufacturing builds and issue resolution during vehicle production
- Develop and maintain documentation, including integration plans, test procedures, and engineering specifications
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to improve the integration process and overall vehicle performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, automotive engineering, or related field
- 5+ Years of experience in integrating and/or testing vehicles
- Proven experience in integration and testing, preferably within the automotive industry
- Proficiency in using test equipment, data acquisition systems, and diagnostics tools
- Familiarity with standard automotive protocols such as CAN and LIN
- Understanding of standard electric vehicle components such as OBC’s, Batteries, BMS, Electronic Control Units, etc…
- Experience in developing and delivering high quality testing on tight deadlines
- Understanding of electro-mechanical parts such as electronic locks, valves, relays, etc
- Ability to install/uninstall equipment on vehicles and test benches
- Comfortable working on high voltage systems
