Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering focusing on structures.
  • Hold a Professional Engineer registration in Canada.
  • 10-15 years of hands-on experience in bridge structural design.
  • In-depth knowledge of bridge standards (including CAN/CSA-S6).
  • Proficiency with leading structural analysis software such as SAP, CSiBridge, MIDAS, and others.
  • Proven track record in leading or developing comprehensive plans and design projects for bridge infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, motivate, and lead a team of highly qualified professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of national, provincial, and municipal processes, policies, guidelines, and standards related to bridge engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Be the face of Parsons, driving cutting-edge bridge studies, designs, and inspections across the region.
  • Take the lead as the principal structural designer, spearheading bridge design and rehabilitation projects with creativity and expertise.
  • Manage project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met while collaborating closely with clients, stakeholders, and sub-consultants.
  • Coach, motivate, and lead a dynamic team of 5-10 professionals to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges, foster growth, and recruit new talent as needed.
  • Work alongside experts across Parsons, coordinating with our teams across North America to deliver exceptional results.
  • Leverage company resources and build strong partnerships with support departments, other offices, and external partners to create high-performing project teams.
  • Drive the preparation of consulting team proposals, relishing the thrill of winning new projects and expanding our influence.
  • Partner with the Regional Director to develop and execute strategic initiatives that expand our market presence in the Maritimes.
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies, trends, and advancements in bridge engineering to maintain technical excellence and provide top-tier services to our clients.
  • Be a key player at professional events, design standards workshops, and conferences, showcasing Parsons' expertise and thought leadership.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in transportation engineering, ensuring Parsons remains a leader in providing state-of-the-art solutions and advice to our clients.
