This position will be located at on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work is available for this position.
Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Engineer Test
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Assist in planning, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Reviews incoming test requests and aids in assessing current abilities verses future requirements. Maintains the area equipment standard by monitoring potential failure trends, investigating new and developing technologies and collaborates with management on its potential implementation. Assist in review of test data and/or troubleshooting test equipment/instrumentation. Provides oversight on testing of all production samples as well as special tests.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with 2 years of relevant experience, Masters degree and 0+ years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of test instrumentation/transducers (pressure, force, acceleration, position, temperature, etc)
- Basic understanding of a PID control system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (WORD, ACCESS and EXCEL)
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with others in a team to accomplish a common goal
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Instrumentation knowledge/experience (i.e. pressure, force, accelerometer, thermocouple, strain gage, etc)
- Instrumentation calibration knowledge
- Demonstrate ability to complete projects on time with minimal oversight
- Data Acquisition System operation experience
- General programming experience/skills
- EXCEL macro programming experience/programming skills
- ACCESS Database experience/programming skills
- MatLab/LabView experience/programming skills
Salary Range: $68,500.00 - $102,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
