Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in life science or a related field with at least eight years of experience in biotechnology project management or a related field, or a master's degree in life science or a related field with at least six years of such experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a previous leadership role.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing employees through clear expectations, regular connections, and ongoing constructive feedback.
  • Knowledge of science and relevant regulations for contract research organizations, preferably with experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, contract research organization, contract manufacturing organization, or a similar environment.
  • High proficiency in project management software; Smartsheet is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact successfully with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks while delivering high-quality results under time constraints.
  • Strong organizational and project administration skills.
  • Ability to work in an upright or stationary position for up to eight hours per day.
  • Ability to use computer software and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to work independently with limited guidance, plan work schedules to meet goals, and sustain periods of intense concentration.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the customer's internal advocate and provide effective cross-site communication for project updates to support transparency and efficiency.
  • Lead complex projects and multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closeout while maintaining alignment with strategic goals, budget, scope, and forecasted timelines.
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to define and monitor project timelines.
  • Communicate with Operations leadership, the commercial team, and customers regarding milestones, progress, issues, and risks.
  • Maintain working relationships with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Sample Management stakeholders.
  • Identify required contract amendments, communicate them to the proposals team, and monitor them through delivery and execution.
  • Track and manage project finances, including revenue forecasting, milestone payments, pass-through costs, and full-time-equivalent estimates, to support on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Work with Project Management Office leadership to develop and roll out project-tracking initiatives such as dashboards and key performance indicators for risk management and governance.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and manage project teams while providing feedback and professional development.
  • Conduct employee performance management with a focus on career growth.
  • Provide regular updates, progress reports, and presentations to support stakeholder communication.
  • Advise the team on complex matters to support client outcomes.
  • Supervise project managers and project coordinators.
  • Work full-time in the office to support project coordination and team collaboration.
  • Occasionally work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
