Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organizations long-term goals.
  • Oversee the finance function including technical accounting and controllership, broker receivables, reinsurance accounting, compliance and strategic planning.
  • Oversee the timely monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring adherence to both internal (local and corporate) and external deliverables.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting, auditing and finance related compliance functions related to the insurance company.
  • Overseeing day to day accounting for insurance operations, including timely settlement of broker receivables and claims payments/funding arrangements.
  • Actively monitor and control all ledger reconciliations and trial balance sign off.
  • Maintain and recommend improvements to key operational processes (minimize process risk).
  • Key point of contact for internal and external audit engagements.
  • Lead the annual planning /budgeting process for underwriting results.
  • Communicate and engage with the BOD.
  • Ensure we are compliant with financial regulations and local laws and regulations.
  • Set strategy and goals for local finance team.
  • Supervise, manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
  • Lead by example; embrace Everest colleague behaviors.
  • Attract, select and develop talent.
  • Coordinate consistent and timely quarterly and annual regulatory financial statements and returns.
  • Monitor financial performance and prepare quarterly reports for senior management and board of directors.
  • Work closely with management to ensure compliance and the timely reporting of all reinsurance arrangements (including billings and establishing appropriate collateral where required).
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly premium analytics with management team.
  • Coordinate all regulatory tax income tax and premium filings.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including market, credit and operational risks.
  • Make decisions regarding investment funding and capital structure.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle General Ledger not required but a strong plus.
