Requirements
  • A PhD in immunology or a related field, or another biological discipline with immunology-focused postdoctoral training, plus 0–4 years of relevant experience; alternatively, an MS with 7+ years or a BS with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of innate and/or adaptive immunology, immune-cell signaling, and disease-relevant mechanisms, with the ability to translate biological questions into well-controlled experiments.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and executing in vitro and ex vivo immunology studies using primary human and/or animal immune cells, whole blood, or tissue-based systems, with proficiency in multiparameter flow cytometry, cytokine/chemokine assays, and complementary functional or molecular readouts.
  • Working knowledge of in vivo immunology and pharmacology, including model selection, dosing, endpoints, tissue collection, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.
  • Demonstrated scientific rigor, sound experimental judgment, strong organization and communication, and enthusiasm for a collaborative, bench-focused role.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and execute assays using disease-relevant immune cells and tissues, including primary human and/or pre-clinical immune cells, whole blood, cell lines, and tissue-derived systems, to measure potency, selectivity, target engagement, mechanism of action, and functional immune responses.
  • Run recurring compound-profiling assays and generate timely, reproducible data to support medicinal chemistry design-make-test-analyze cycles from hit-to-lead through lead optimization and development candidate selection.
  • Apply quantitative pharmacology and rigorous data-quality practices to analyze concentration-response relationships, assay performance, reproducibility, and biological relevance.
  • Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records, protocols, and data packages; communicate results, technical risks, and recommended next experiments at biology and project-team meetings.
  • Support in vivo immunology studies by contributing to experimental plans and readout selection, processing study samples, conducting ex vivo analyses, and interpreting exposure, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic, biomarker, and efficacy data with in vivo pharmacology and DMPK colleagues.
  • Support assay transfer and external studies with contract research organizations or collaborators by executing internal bridging work, reviewing protocols and data, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Contribute to laboratory operations, reagent and instrument qualification, method documentation, and a culture of scientific rigor, safety, collaboration, and timely execution.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience transferring assays to contract research organizations or automated/high-throughput screening platforms.
  • Experience supporting small-molecule discovery through compound screening or profiling.
  • Exposure to hit identification, hit-to-lead, or lead optimization.
  • Direct hands-on experience in in vivo immunology and pharmacology.

Iambic Therapeutics develops therapeutics using an AI-driven discovery platform, focusing on oncology and neurological diseases in clinical-stage programs. The platform combines advanced AI models with automated experiments to predict molecular properties faster and with less data, speeding identification and optimization of drug candidates. It differentiates itself by maintaining an in-house pipeline alongside strategic pharmaceutical partnerships to advance programs and earn milestones and royalties. The goal is to bring new therapies to patients by accelerating discovery and development through AI and automation.

What believers are saying

  • Takeda’s February 9, 2026 deal could exceed $1.7 billion with royalties.
  • Iambic raised over $100 million on November 10, 2025, then $27.8 million in April 2026.
  • IAM1363 entered 53 sites by June 4, 2026, expanding execution momentum.

What critics are saying

  • IAM1363’s Phase 1 completion stretches to December 2028, delaying clear value inflection.
  • Takeda and Jazz partnership economics remain undisclosed, leaving revenue quality opaque.
  • A clinical miss in HER2 programs would puncture Iambic’s platform-validation story.

What makes Iambic Therapeutics unique

  • Tom Miller’s NeuralPLexer and wet-lab loop accelerated Takeda discovery on February 9, 2026.
  • IAM1363 is brain-penetrant and HER2-selective, spanning wild-type and mutant HER2 cancers.
  • Iambic pairs clinical programs with platform deals, unlike single-asset AI-biotech peers.
