Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least 2 years of industry experience, or 4 years of industry-related experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to travel.
Responsibilities
  • Review and understand project and contract requirements.
  • Perform pre-bid and post-bid job site inspections.
  • Prepare and compile information and documentation for project and contractual requirements.
  • Alert the Superintendent and Project Manager to potential project impacts relating to resource management, crew make-up and size, and other essential project items.
  • Perform material and quantity take-offs, prepare scoping documents and terms and conditions, and support delivery and procurement activities.
  • Perform production analysis.
  • Manage the project submittal process, including applicable design calculations, data reports, as-built drawings, production drawing and specification reviews, and scheduling layout.
  • Manage the project Quality Assurance/Quality Control program, including tests and data analysis from automated computer and software systems.
  • Assist in preparing blue book documentation, including Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Planning, and support pre-planning meetings.
  • Ensure work complies with contract requirements, project plans, and specifications.
  • Assist in mentoring field engineers.
  • Comply with Keller risk management policies and procedures, recognize major risks, and take measures to reduce company risk.
  • Work with the Project Manager to track and log project changes and identify changes requiring escalation.
  • Collect documentation to identify and determine the impact of potential contract changes, disputes, and claims.
  • Analyze targets, goals, job cost summaries, and other reports.
  • Create and obtain approval for the initial budget and subsequent updates or changes.
  • Review weekly job cost summaries and advise the Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and project teams to manage job transitions, communicate project requirements, and develop initial procurement plans and budgets.
  • Gather monthly financial reports and participate in recap reviews.
  • Track production quantities for revenue billing.
  • Ensure compliance with Keller and Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety requirements.
  • Partner with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality teams after safety incidents to support employees and project management teams according to Keller policy.
  • Assist in resolving quality nonconformance issues.
  • Exercise stop-work authority for safety and quality issues.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned to support branch and company objectives.

Keller, Inc. to build for Thermo Fisher scientific/oakbrook Corporation. FITCHBURG, Wis. - Thermo Fisher Scientific, in partnership with Oakbrook Corporation (Property Manager), is moving forward with an addition to expand its loading dock capabilities. The project includes two new loading docks, an improved turning radius, and redesigned traffic flow to better accommodate semi-truck deliveries. The project is being delivered through a design-build partnership with Keller, Inc., an award-winning, 100% employee-owned design-build contractor headquartered in Kaukauna. Thermo Fisher Scientific selected Keller after previous conversations about the design-build process and identified this project as an ideal opportunity to implement the delivery method for the first time. Designed to enhance operational efficiency, the project includes selective demolition of an existing area inside the current loading dock footprint to create a more functional and productive space. Once complete, the improvements will support increased productivity for a growing business unit. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with completion anticipated in Fall 2026.
