Requirements
  • Master’s degree required, supplemented with three (3) years of relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of disability services and student affairs functions
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ADA Amendments Act, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, The Fair Housing Act, and other related state and federal laws

Responsibilities
  • Reviews diagnostic documentation and meets with students to determine reasonable and appropriate accommodations for the academic setting in accordance with federal, state, departmental, and University policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; maintain regular contact and follow-up with students registered with the CADR office; develop and maintain relationships with campus partners to best connect students to beneficial campus resources; communicates with faculty to serve as advocate for students.
  • Promotes CADR to the campus community; engages in several on-campus committees with various stakeholders; provides consultation and support to faculty and staff regarding ways to support students with physical, learning, or psychological/psychiatric disabilities by partnering with the Reinert Center to develop trainings for the campus community.
  • Develop the CADR website by researching and promoting articles and studies for the faculty resource page, editing and posting registration forms and other relevant materials necessary for student and faculty engagement, and by collaborating with the Student Engagement Web and Media Coordinator to ensure that all content is current.
  • Supervises/manages graduate and undergraduate staff, including testing center staff, as well as the ADHD Coach; conducts onboarding and training for newly hired disability services staff members; promotes staff development and engagement in-line with best practices regarding educational accessibility and inclusion.
  • Assists Director of CADR in determining reasonable housing accommodations for students with a diagnosed disability by maintaining up to date knowledge of the Fair Housing Act (FHA), collaborating with Housing and Residence Life on accommodations decisions as they relate to student placement, and communicating with medical providers for diagnostic information.
  • Oversee testing center operations and exam-related accommodations; support the provision of alternate format texts and adaptive and accessible technology; analyze and create processes for the provision of other necessary academic accommodations (e.g., note taking, scribes, lab assistants, etc.).
