P5 OpenShift Engineering Lead
We are seeking a highly experienced OpenShift Team Lead to guide our team in the deployment, management, and optimization of our OpenShift environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes, with proven expertise in container orchestration, cloud-native application development, and infrastructure automation.
This role is strategic in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our containerized applications. The candidate will be responsible for leading the team, architect solutions, and ensuring the long-term health and efficiency of our OpenShift environments.
Architect and lead the deployment and management of OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
Provide strategic operational support, troubleshooting complex issues, and minimizing downtime.
Lead collaboration efforts with development and operations teams to implement new features and integrate user-facing elements.
Optimize the OpenShift environment for maximum performance, scalability, and security, setting standards and best practices.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
Oversee infrastructure configuration, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Administer and architect CI/CD pipelines, ensuring performance optimization and security compliance.
Advanced administration of Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of various distributions (e.g., Red Hat, Rocky8), ensuring smooth and efficient operation of both on-premise and Azure Cloud infrastructure.
Lead the entire application life-cycle within the OpenShift environment, with a focus on high-level coding, debugging, and testing strategies.
Own accountability for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions.
Document all operational, maintenance, and upgrade procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or fifteen (15) or more years of work experience in IT, with a focus on virtualization and containerization with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of OpenShift and Kubernetes.
Extensive expertise in container orchestration and management.
Advanced proficiency in CI/CD pipeline management and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitOps, or similar.
Expertise in cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
In-depth knowledge of best practices in application security, particularly in a cloud-native environment.
Advanced experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Proficiency in monitoring and logging tools Grafana Labs stack such as Prometheus, Loki, and Alerts.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong communication skills.
Extensive experience with Agile methodologies and their application in software development projects.
