- A bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science, Biology, Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, or eight years of equivalent education and experience.
- A minimum of four years of progressive hatchery experience or a combination of hatchery and related poultry industry experience is required.

- Assist the Hatchery Manager in planning, developing, and implementing policies and practices for hatchery operations to ensure goals are attained and the hatchery operates profitably.
- Direct strategic operational plans for hatching eggs and chick production.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
- Manage and coordinate hatchery activities, including egg pickup and deliveries, care, incubation and hatching, grading, vaccination, and chick preparation and shipping.
- Manage and coordinate facility and equipment maintenance.
- Manage chick care, maintenance, packing, and transfer activities.
- Oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program.
- Communicate with and assist the Breeder Manager in projecting egg needs.
- Communicate and coordinate with contract service providers where applicable.
- Manage and maintain weekly hatch schedules and provide proper numbers.
- Monitor and manage facility equipment and repairs and address maintenance issues.
- Maintain hatchery sanitation.
- Establish and manage safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and information regarding hatchery equipment and operations.
- Manage, review, and analyze reports and perform corrective measures.
- Manage the hatchery budget.
- Manage the quality of the Embrex program.
- Manage the Animal Welfare Program.
- Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
