Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in satellite communications and product development
  • Satellites communications industry experience with HTS systems in LEO, MEO, or GEO
  • Technical background in engineering or scientific-related field
  • An excellent knowledge of enterprise LAN/WAN architecture and familiarity with IP networking protocols/hardware
  • Experience with satellite network hub systems, network management, and network operations
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment and shaping process and procedures for long term growth
  • Proven track record in strategic technical sales environments balancing the customers’ wants with internal capabilities and goals
  • Willingness to travel (~10%)
Responsibilities
  • Dimensioning ground solutions for commercial pursuits by working with Earth Stations Engineering/Operations, Network Operations, and Hub teams
  • Define product market fit for next generation satellite communication systems
  • Developing tailored product offerings for existing and emerging verticals (e.g., Energy, Utilities, Aviation, Maritime, IoT, and Technology) to enhance and expand our market positioning and attract new customers.
  • Building Astranis’s profile with the international business community
  • Interfacing with Commercial, US Government, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Operations and Executive teams
  • Assisting in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in cellular 3g, 4g, LTE, and 5g network protocol
  • Experience in SD-WAN architecture
  • Link budgeting / Link analysis experience
  • Scripting language experience in one of the following: Python (preferred), MATLAB, R, Julia, C++, or similar. Comfortable using scripted tools to conduct analyses and trade studies.
  • Experience with regulatory affairs for space based communications networks
  • Experience working Military Satellite communications systems
