Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, Masters or PhD preferred with emphasis in Antenna, Electromagnetic theory and/or microwave circuits
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and testing Antenna and/or RF hardware and systems
  • Experience with RF/Antenna Systems in L/S/C/Ku and Ka-Band frequencies
  • Familiarity with Antenna design, including types and tradeoffs, planar, patch, horn, slotted waveguide, parabolic dish, and radome design
  • Understanding of electromagnetic propagation, impedance matching, Smith Chart, VSWR, P1dB, IIP3, NF, and etc
  • Understanding of digital modulations such as QAM, BPSK, QPSK, and SOQPSK or similar
  • Experience working with VNA, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, and other relevant RF test equipment
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • RF PCB design techniques including material selection, multi-layer RF transition design and validation and board-to-board RF transitions, PCBA layout and construction techniques
  • High-level expertise in HFSS (or similar antenna simulation tools)
  • Strong hands-on skills including prototyping/soldering and the use of a full range of instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers etc
  • Support ongoing regulatory filling including FCC, FAA, and AFTRCC
Responsibilities
  • Simulate/model RF hardware for communication systems and sensors/instruments
  • Antenna design from initial concept through prototype development, production and test
  • Designing new antenna products; front end systems for RADAR, SATCOM, GPS, and Telemetry applications
  • Be responsible for the hands-on design and realization of individual antennas, phased array antennas, RF circuits, passive RF components, and RF systems
  • Develop test concepts and test procedures for RF and Environmental testing, including far field and near field measurements (plus vibration, shock, thermal and thermal vacuum)
  • Simulate/model RF hardware for communication systems and sensors/instruments
  • Design and validate RF electronic circuits and systems such as RF amplifier, communications front-end, LNA, Mixer, BUCs, Feed network, and etc
  • Define hardware architecture and specifications for the RF system blocks, interfaces, and housing. Design, build and test microwave circuits and assemblies
  • End-to-end design validation and testing of RF product performance. Lead and conduct troubleshooting or root cause hardware performance challenges
  • Work with manufacturing and production teams on producing and integrating quality RF/Antenna subsystems into our aircrafts

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, and demonstrated ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines
  • EMI/EMC testing per MIL-STD-461
  • Prior work on a launch vehicle
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
