Requirements
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Fluent in Python, C++, and C (don’t get hung up on this—being an exceptional software engineer matters above all)
  • Experience (and comfortable) with the Linux/Unix systems and command line
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in engineering, mathematics, or computer science
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Strong intuition for what matters in a production system (vs. research-grade)
Responsibilities
  • writing software to interact with Neuralink’s implant
  • building systems for manufacturing and testing the device

Neuralink develops brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that facilitate direct communication between the brain and external devices. Its main product, the N1 Implant, is a small, fully implantable device that allows users to control computers or mobile devices through their brain activity. The N1 Implant operates using a wirelessly charged battery and advanced low-power chips that process neural signals, which are then sent to the Neuralink Application to be translated into computer commands. A unique aspect of Neuralink is its use of a surgical robot that precisely inserts ultra-thin threads into the brain, minimizing damage during the procedure. This company stands out from competitors by focusing on both medical applications for individuals with mobility issues and the potential for cognitive enhancement for a broader audience. The goal of Neuralink is to restore autonomy to those with unmet medical needs and to explore new ways for humans to interact with technology.
