Staff Systems Engineer

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Support various activities of the NPI process for transition into manufacturing

• Troubleshoot complex electrical subsystems and develop standard guides to help the floor with troubleshooting steps

• Develop, implement and maintain operational methods in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and 8D problem solving as needed

• Support the internal and external quality process and corrective actions

• Reduce production labor and material cost while improving efficiency and utilization

• Utilize the Engineering Change Order and Engineering Change Request system for the business unit

• Work with outside suppliers on outsourcing activities

• Work with manufacturing personnel to investigate and resolve manufacturing challenges in the cleanroom, documentation and component problems as they arise

• Support project planning by defining scope and tasks, and estimating effort and cost for product and feature development on a range of equipment platforms

• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, travel may vary, up to15%

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering other engineering disciplines will be considered

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience 

• Ability to understand and work with electrical schematics, assembly drawings, interconnect diagrams and BOMs

• Experience in debugging mechanical and electrical problems

• Demonstrated hands-on experience working and supporting manufacturing

• Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers and peers

• Capable of using lab equipment, DVM, oscilloscope

• Capable of using OrCAD or other modeling software

• Ability to effectively present information to customers, management, manufacturing and peers

• Experience with cable design and assembly. 

• Basic knowledge with Electrical Compliance standard.

• Salary $126-180K
