Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare quality, operations, management consulting, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed healthcare organization is required.
  • Proven ability to develop Board- and executive-level reporting, presentations, and data narratives is required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication is required to synthesize complexity for diverse audiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, is required.
  • Strong analytical and data storytelling skills, including the ability to build visualizations from disparate data sources, are required.
  • The role requires emotional intelligence, diplomacy, discretion, confidence at the executive level, sound judgment in ambiguous situations, confidentiality, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the operational rhythm of the department, including meeting cadence, agenda development, pre-read distribution, action tracking, and follow-through.
  • Prepare and maintain executive-level briefing materials, Board reporting packages, and QPI bundle summaries.
  • Serve as a thought partner and surrogate for the Executive Vice President in cross-functional forums, representing quality priorities.
  • Maintain the department-wide initiative inventory and proactively surface interdependencies, risks, and resource constraints.
  • Lead or co-lead complex, cross-functional quality improvement initiatives from scoping through implementation and evaluation.
  • Build and maintain project charters, work plans, RACI matrices, milestone trackers, and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Coordinate across COE leadership, Chief Medical Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Finance, Information Technology, and external health plan partners.
  • Apply Lean, PDSA, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies appropriate to the initiative and organizational context.
  • Develop and maintain reporting infrastructure, including SACR, MOR, quality scorecards, value-based care dashboards, and ad hoc analytics.
  • Translate data from HEDIS, Star Ratings, clinical registries, and internal metrics into narratives for executive and Board audiences.
  • Own presentation development for operational reviews, major initiatives, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Establish consistent reporting standards, visual templates, and data governance practices across the department.
  • Translate clinical quality priorities into technology and artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Identify, pilot, and scale artificial intelligence and automation tools that reduce administrative burden and improve data quality and reporting speed.
  • Evaluate and recommend platforms, tools, and workflow solutions that enhance department efficiency.
  • Build internal literacy around artificial-intelligence-assisted quality monitoring, documentation, and performance improvement tools.
  • Support SEPTEE framework implementation across service lines through change management planning, training coordination, and adoption tracking.
  • Facilitate process redesign using structured performance-improvement methodologies to identify root causes, redesign workflows, and monitor sustainability.
  • Assist in developing value-based care performance-improvement strategies with health plan partners and clinical leadership.
  • Draft, review, and distribute communications on behalf of the Executive Vice President, including department announcements, partner correspondence, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and other departments on quality-adjacent initiatives.
  • Represent the department in key operational forums when the Executive Vice President is unavailable or requests surrogate participation.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree, such as a Master of Health Administration, Master of Business Administration, or Master of Public Health, is preferred.
  • PMP, CAPM, or an equivalent project management certification is preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Clinical education is a plus.
  • Prior experience in chief-of-staff, operations liaison, performance improvement, clinical analytics, or senior project management roles is preferred.
  • Prior experience with value-based care metrics, HEDIS, Star Ratings, or clinical quality and safety programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and automation tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, and Tableau is preferred.
