Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Basic computer skills or ability to learn and use hospital computers.
  • Effective communication skills with unit staff and other departments.
  • Must complete orientation requirements: general hospital orientation and unit-specific orientation.
Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Patient transportation.
  • Direct para-professional nursing care to Nursing Units and Emergency Department patients.
  • Various registration and clerical duties.
  • Responsible and accountable to an assigned group of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
