Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of internal senior-management-level experience, such as Vice President, or 5 years of external senior-management-level experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more departments is required.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the dialysis operations of a defined region, providing leadership and guidance regarding customer service, quality patient care, marketing, and financial management.
  • Interpret and implement company and divisional policies and procedures and direct and plan assigned-region activities to maintain dialysis service operations, maximize returns on investment, and increase productivity.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching for all direct reports while maintaining an engaged and productive workforce and ensuring outstanding patient care and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Interact with all organizational levels, executives, and major customers, including Senior Vice Presidents, Presidents, and potentially the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Oversee policy application and the effective utilization of physical and financial resources.
  • Manage profit and loss for facilities and dialysis programs within the region and ensure facility operations meet or exceed budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Support financial operations, increase the payor mix, retain commercial patients, and ensure compliance with local, state, and national reimbursement practices.
  • Collaborate with division management to develop and implement a regional marketing plan supporting growth and profitability, including facility startups.
  • Implement operational-efficiency improvements involving systems standardization, quality control, safety, site selection, facility design, and patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee patient-care logistics from admission through discharge, including transient, in-center, home, and inpatient dialysis services, and establish processes for timely care plans and scheduling.
  • Oversee facility-specific and regional quality goals and action plans to meet regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
  • Control planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priorities, and changes to current methods while ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Drive staffing and medical-supply models and business initiatives, including prompt implementation of action plans for clinics below performance thresholds.
  • Manage medical director contracts, negotiate and approve agreements, and develop relationships with physician practices and medical directors.
  • Oversee governing-body processes and accountabilities and serve as liaison to Medical Advisory Board members.
  • Ensure regional employees receive required training and education and comply with risk-management initiatives.
  • Oversee privacy and security matters, practice risk-management strategies, and collaborate with legal counsel on legal and litigation issues.
  • Maintain environmental integrity and safety for facilities and water systems within the designated region.
  • Collaborate with the Group Vice President on joint-venture and merger-and-acquisition opportunities, including joint-venture operations, board meetings, management meetings, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community and regional healthcare markets and industry issues and use knowledge of company products, services, and strategies to market the company and grow the business.
  • Develop the Regional Management team and succession planning through coaching, training, and leadership development.
  • Provide technical guidance.
  • Assist with assigned projects.
  • Travel between facilities and attend group, regional, divisional, and corporate meetings.
