Compensation Overview

The Core team’s mission is to create the best data streaming platform. The team consists of known experts in foundational technologies such as Raft/consensus, transactions and distributed storage, who have come together to build a differentiated highly performant product with compelling traction in the market. We work closely across multiple functions at Redpanda and our work directly drives key business metrics through various SaaS and self-managed offerings. Redpanda is growing and so are we.

You have:

• Strong understanding and experience in C++
• Substantial relevant experience of at least 10 years in a professional role
• Penchant and curiosity for debugging and figuring out performance issue deep into the innards of Linux based systems
• Passion for working on deeply technical projects in the realm of distributed persistent systems (e.g. scalable filesystems, databases), concurrency and parallelism, replication protocols, and correctness.
• Experience working on the internals of such systems, whether open source (e.g. Ceph, Kudu, Cassandra) or proprietary (e.g. high-scale cloud backend systems)
• Desire to further develop your skills in building scalable and performant systems
• Pride in writing robust, well-abstracted code and care as much about deleting dead code as writing new code
• Experience or desire to work with a 100% distributed engineering team, collaborating on GitHub, in the open
• Excellent written communication skills

You will:

•  Excel in hands-on contributing across multiple complex projects in the capacity of a leadEmploy your expertise in debugging deep Linux system level issues via tools such as perf or ebpf
• Lead laying down the technical vision owning delivery of technical milestones in service of business goals
• Contribute equally effectively whether coding or with ensuring multiple large projects are coherent in their design
•  Articulate, influence and effectively collaborate with cross-functional company-wide leadership, including our CEO
• Guide and influence tactical and strategic investments
• Play a major role in hiring, mentoring and growing technical teams through your exemplary leadership

U.S. base salary range for this role is $214,000 - $283,000 (CA, NY, WA). and $210,000 - $246,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate’s job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary.
