Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary, as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to interact with all members of a team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
Responsibilities
  • Communicates our mission and vision with the purpose of maximizing the quality of applicants to the medical school through graduate fairs, virtual fairs, presentations, and social media.
  • Participates in evaluating application credentials on a portion of the completed files for a first-round application cognitive and non-cognitive review based on general criteria established by the Committee on Admissions and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs/Associate Dean for Admissions.
  • Periodically presents, through formal presentations and informal conversation in a variety of settings, an overview of the School of Medicine (philosophy, curriculum, school resources, and student life) and the application process to medical schools.
  • Ensures successful management of the application management system and regularly interacts with outside vendors, the general public, prospective applicants, and current applicants.
  • Serves as a primary contact for students regarding interview day, along with the other Admissions Officers, and works closely with faculty and staff to ensure successful execution of interview days.
  • Manages onboarding for interviewers and proactively communicates to confirm and adjust interview schedules.
  • Meets with interviewed applicants in a group setting for a formal welcome, and is available to meet individually with the interviewees who have further questions regarding the application process.
  • Supports the Student Ambassador Program by coordinating activities, training sessions, recruitment efforts and ongoing communications with ambassadors.
  • Manages the admissions office’s social media presence—curating content, engaging with followers, and coordinating a content calendar to promote events, student stories, and key deadlines.
  • Prepares and analyzes data—compiling metrics on candidate performance and interviewer feedback, identifying trends, and generating insights to refine interview training and structure.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience working in Admissions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in basic web design, graphic design, and social media strategy/campaigns
  • Comfort working with data and tracking basic applicant demographics/metrics
  • Excellent communication and organization skills – written and verbal- attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work on deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA
