We are looking for an engineering or data science leader to build new capabilities in the Cirrus Revenue Operating System to include Air Cargo revenue and capacity planning software and capabilities. As the leader of a brand new product offering, you will hire and build a team and lead the development of an AI-driven cargo revenue management application. You’ll work closely with product owners and our other engineering and data science teams to extend FLYR’s platform to address the complex demand forecasting problems of the air cargo industry.
As a technical leader you will build and lead a new team of software and data talent. You will develop a product roadmap in close collaboration with the technical product owner. Additionally, this person will play a key role in the partnership between FLYR and Air New Zealand as the two companies continue to jointly develop and test innovative capabilities for the aviation industry.

Engineering managers at FLYR balance their time between people leadership, project management, and technical facilitation and leadership. You will lead the definition of processes within your team to consistently deliver high quality software services into production.

What will your destination look like at FLYR?
- Lead the development of a new AI-powered cargo revenue management product offering. Build roadmaps and long-term team vision in partnership with the Product organization
- Be accountable for driving project execution.
- Collaborate with product owners on the analysis of complex business requirements and deliver technical solutions to challenging objectives.
- Lead the development of data models, data pipelines and data transformations to power product metrics and ML features. Collaborate with data science teams in the development of ML models.
- Directly supervise a team of 5-8 software engineers, data engineers, and data analytics engineers. Provide technical mentorship and training, and promote success in their career path at FLYR.
- Define and fulfill the engineering hiring plan for the team, including screening and interviewing.
- Advocate for and lead process improvement within your team and across our fast-growing engineering organization.
What can you bring on this trip?
- Experienced people leader. Previous experience as an engineering manager leading a high caliber team.
- You must have experience as an engineering manager leading development teams delivering a complex software product offering.
- Technical experience that allows you to contribute to architecture and product decisions.
- Ability to clearly communicate status, blockers, risks and dependencies to peer managers and executive stakeholders. Led an engineering team delivering against goals in an Agile/Scrum development methodology.
- Experience hiring software developers, data engineers, and data analysts.
- Experience in operating software services in production. Must have experience leading software development on a SaaS product or service delivery environment.
- Must have past technical experience contributing to a product or service offering with a data science and machine learning component and a predictive or forecasting based business capability.

- Technical Assignment - A technical assignment utilizing necessary skills listed above provided on a take-home basis.
- Onsite/Virtual Onsite - A series of meetings with the hiring team/team members to finalize our evaluation of candidates, assessing leadership, project management, and technical skills.
